Trifold / Letter Fold

Created by folding both of the outter thirds of paper, one at a time, to overlap in the middle, creating three equal sections.

Roll Fold / Barrel Fold

Created by folding one section of paper inward, then continuing to roll and fold in the same direction.

Double Parallel Fold

Created by folding paper in half and then in half again in the same direction, creating four panels of equal size.

Z Fold

Created by folding a piece of paper into thirds, with one third folded forward and another folded backward. An end view displays the letter Z.

Accordion Fold

Created by folding a sheet of paper back and forth with three folds. Similar to a Z-fold but with one more fold. A side view displays the letter M.

Gate Fold

Created by folding two ends to meet in the middle, creating a large section in the center and two smaller panels on the sides.

French Fold

Created by folding the paper in half, then folding in half again perpendicular to the first fold.
